Who created the FMS?

This screening tool was created by a physical therapist who is a board-certified orthopedic clinical specialist.

What makes up the FMS?

The FMS is a screening tool comprised of 7 fundamental movement patterns.

1. Deep Squat
2. Hurdle Step
3. In-Line Lunge
4. Shoulder Mobility
5. Active Straight Leg Raise
6. Trunk Stability Push-up
7. Rotary Stability

The athlete’s performance on each individual test determines the score for that test. Specific performance criteria are used to determine the scoring system.

The results of the FMS are evaluated by a physical therapist from MOORE. The physical therapist then assists in prescribing corrective exercises to clean up any weakness or compensation pattern.
