Moore Testimonials

I just turned 61 and have been suffering with lower back pain for over 25 years due to arthritis and disc degeneration.  I’ve also had two hip replacements and several knee operations.  Playing golf had become a test of my ability to endure pain rather than one of my favorite pastimes.  Walking the dog was an exercise in agony.  I was beginning to despair of my future and quality of life.

About two months ago, at my orthopaedic surgeon’s suggestion, I began physical therapy at the Moore Center.  And the improvement has been remarkable.  The staff at the Moore Center are a delightful group of helpful, knowledgeable and friendly people who make the therapy sessions a pleasure.  And the results have been dramatic:  increased flexibility and improved strength in my back, hips and legs as well as a significantly reduced level of pain.

Then my wife got me what has proved to be the best birthday present ever.  An eight week golf fitness course led by Bob Moore.  Twice a week we work on the core muscles and joints involved in the golf swing, and the results have been amazing.  I hit a bucket of balls last weekend at the driving range (there’s still snow on the ground, but I couldn’t resist), and I was astounded.  I was hitting it better than I have in years.  I have a full turn on the backswing and remarkable power.  The ball was sailing, and straight.  I am almost giddy at the prospect of playing this year.

Simply put, the Moore Center has renewed my enjoyment of life.  I can never thank Bob and his staff enough.

"I received outstanding therapeutic treatments by very knowledgeable and caring staff.  The sessions have helped a great deal.

The services are very person centered and my Physical Therapist is always prepared for each session.  I feel I am given excellent individual attention and I am never rushed or stressed during the process…most of all I feel my Physical Therapist has expertise and experience to provide me with a treatment plan that really works.  All staff have been very courteous, sensitive and professional.  I have had negative PT experience in the past but my experience with Moore has been exceptional and I highly recommend anyone to you for quality service!”

9 weeks into a 16 week training plan for the NYC Marathon, I incurred an injury which left me unable to walk without shooting pains up my left hip. The dream of running in New York was slipping away.  My primary care physician was not sure what the cause was but recommended Moore for physical therapy.  Through careful analysis of my injury and by designing the right therapy plan, Craig and his staff were not only able to put me back on my feet but after only 3 weeks, enabled me to resume training.  I finished the 26.2 miles only 9 minutes slower than originally hoped and had the time of my life doing so!  All thanks to Craig and his team.

To Lucille and Noah, A quick note to thank you both for all your help and kindnesses on my behalf the last 6 weeks of 2009 as it related to my wrist and shoulder.  My wife and I went out to California for Christmas and visited our grandchildren and found for the first time in "many moons", I was fully operational - my wrist is excellent as is my shoulder and, equally as important to me, driving is now a pleasure.  All this I owe to you, Noah and your associates, and I assure you stretching is now a very important part of my day.  I have thanked my doctors for directing me to you and I thank you for your extraordinary professionalism and talents.

Early May I was diagnosed with a herniated disk in my neck and the pain was unbearable.

I went to the Moore center and told them I do not want to have surgery and how can they help me. Bob and Noah sat with me and suggested an aggressive approach to therapy and to give it until August to see how my condition evolves. We did, and I am very fortunate to say I feel like I am back to 100% normalcy after my physical therapy sessions with Bob and Noah. I didn't miss work and even lived an active lifestyle while doing therapy. I played professional baseball for 10 years and I have to tell you that the Moore center's professionalism, knowledge, and thought process was on par if not more efficient than the treatment I received while playing Major League Baseball. If you are looking for the highest level of care out of your physical therapist, you should call the Moore center! Call me direct for a reference.

After years of pain, I now feel as if I can move again and hopefully maintain the pain in the future to a minimum. Thank You!

“Over the years I have referred many patients to The Moore Center.  The therapists at Moore have always provided an extremely high level of personalized care and attention to the patients I have referred.  The patients themselves have universally returned to my office with positive feedback vis-a-vis their experiences at Moore Rehab, which is very important to me as a referring physician.”

After 5 sessions at Moore, Rich and the crew have developed an exercise/stretching program that has allowed me to regain mobility, flexibility, strength and body mechanics far beyond my expectations.

The program developed for me has been interesting, challenging and effective.  The reward for our hard work is encouraging and we are not finished yet.  Thank you Rich!  I am definitely a success story.

Members of the Summer Street Moore Center, I thank each and every member of the wonderful staff for making it possible for me to return to a healthy, active and happy life.

It was a long haul, but with your professional care and your encouragement in my determination on those down days, I have now returned to my previous active life.  As I once crawled into The Moore Center, I now leave walking with my head held high, shoulders back, and a big smile on my face. You are my miracle workers!

Rich, Emily, Brenda and all my young friends, you will always have a special place in my heart!

Joan K.

Thank you all for the wonderful care over the past ten months.  You really have a terriffic team of professionals.

I attended another physical therapy center prior to my surgery and they couldn't hold a candle to you.  The best compliment I can give you is that I have already recommended The Moore Center to five or six co-workers and friends.  I truly appreciate the care, treatment, and advice you provided.  You have created a "homey" and friendly atmosphere that makes it a pleasure to come to therapy.  I am somewhat saddened that I will not be seeing you all regularly any longer.

John P.

Moore's professionalism, compassion and especially their sense of humor greatly contributed to a wonderful outcome with my rehab.

I underwent a complete knee replacement in March 2008.  After 4 days in the hospital and 10 days at an inpatient rehabilitation facility, I began my outpatient rehabilitation at Moore.  I knew that rehab was the important phase in my recovery and that it would not be easy.  However this process was greatly helped by the therapists and the support staff at Moore.  So when I underwent the replacement of my second knee in September and after my time in inpatient rehab, I returned to Moore more confident and relaxed.  I was happy to work again with the same therapist who knew me and understood my concerns.  The support staff were just as helpful as before.  Having had such a good experience at Moore, I certainly would recommend them to any family or friends who required physical therapy.

If you have sustained a traumatic injury or orthopaedic surgery, your destination for rehabilitation should be The Moore Center.  They have facilities in Darien, Stamford and Wilton.

You will experience a very dedicated and wellness-centered group of therapists with a positive attitude and extremely positive environment.  I was a physical education teacher and coach and always recognized the value of exercise.  When I needed physical therapy, Moore was my destination with outstanding results.  A committment to them results in a committment to you.

Joan B.

I love the facility.  I love the fact that this place is like "Cheers" where everyone knows your name.

As a patient I felt like every one of the staff cared about my rehabilitation.  The therapists are all very knowledgeable.  Loved Craig's intensity and his ever-watchful eye, loved Phil's pushing and caring, Greg did a great job bringing me to the next protocol levels.  Paige runs a great office, calls are returned ASAP, what a professional!

Guy P.

Thanks to Rich and Emily for taking such a personal interest in getting me back on track to my active lifestyle.

They were professional and caring.  Special thanks to Rich for his advice on proper work station set-up and stress reduction techniques.

Sincerely, Alison

Have I told you how much I appreciated the workout I received, at your urging, to get me in shape for skiing last winter?

Thanks to Paul and those 8 hour-long “Get Ready for Skiing” sessions, I can honestly say that I enjoyed a wonderful ski season. The weather conditions, of course, contributed to a fabulous ski season, but what was even more remarkable was that I never once felt sore, starting from my first day out skiing until the last day of ski season. All those lunges, the footwork, the balance exercises really paid off. The preparation was not without its pain but the rewards were worth it. I felt more confident on the slopes and, thank goodness, had an injury-free season. I highly recommend the class for those, like me, who finally realize that being in shape makes the sport that much more enjoyable.  You have to do the homework so that you can have a successful season. I’m still doing those lunges every day since the class and I’m looking forward to another great ski season!

Thanks for having the passion for what you do!

Dear Craig, Thanks again for really showing your support and for helping us play our best at Districts . . . we almost made it to the next level with your help.  You really went above and beyond by calling and driving up on your Sunday to tape Tina's ankle - how did you now she was in trouble?  She was all ready for the finals thanks to your efforts.  Thanks for having the passion for what you do and for making our time at Moore so much fun!  We know you were a big part of our success - THANK YOU, THANK YOU.

Kim, Yvonne and the Raquettes

I am surprised at my progress!

After five sessions in the past two weeks with Physical Therapist Rich and the "Crew" at Moore, Mind.Muscle.Movement, in Stamford, I am astounded with my progress and the body function I have regained.  This exciting change has taken teamwork, commitment and hard work.

After my initial evaluation, Rich put together a specific program for me that has been challenging, effective and rewarding.  I have had major changes in my flexibility, mobility and body mechanics as a result.  These changes also came with a silent commitment from within me to continue my exercises and make this a life change and not just a visit to the physical therapist's office.

While we worked on my program together, the therapists have been an integral part of my progress making sure that I did my exercises correctly, with proper form and they always approached me with a friendly, positive, and engaged attitude.  I had previously been to other physical therapist offices "just doing the exercises", but this was different.  Moore, Mind.Muscle.Movement, has been a positive, rewarding experience far exceeding my expectations.

To walk . . . perchance to dance again

Almost 3 years ago I hobbled shakily into the Moore Center on crutches.  After a motorcycle accident in which my leg was completely crushed, I had undergone 11 major replacement graft surgeries requiring a 7 month stay in the hospital.  In addition to being unable to walk, I was suffering from loss of sensation, immobility as well as intense pain.  I doubted I would walk normally again.  My surgeons, to whom I owe much, felt that there was a good chance I would walk again, but it would always be with the assistance of a stick.  Pursuing my passion of dancing was a subject they would not discuss.

I was fortunate, very fortunate, to fall into the hands of Noah at Moore.  Through patience, understanding, encouragement and excellent though sometimes painful therapy (what was jokingly referred to as "Noah's Chinese toe torture"), I have a new life today.  I am walking without a stick (albeit with a limp), the pain and swelling are down to a manageable level, and best of all, I am dancing again.  Next month I will be competing in a dance competition - my first ever!

Thank you Noah and all the wonderful staff at Moore for getting me back on my feet again.

Dear Lori,     Thank you so much for your assistance with my mother's rehab.

Just as you suspected, Dr. Cavanaugh confirmed that her hip is completely dislocated, and she is scheduled for surgery next week.

I am so appreciative of your personal investment in your clients and your willingness to extend yourself on their behalf.  It is not a common practice today, so it really is something my family and I value and appreciate.  It is a wonderful comfort to know that true professionals still exist and that my mom has been fortunate enough to be under the care of one.

We'll probably see you again in August, but in the meantime please accept our thanks and gratitude.  We hope you and your family are enjoying a wonderful summer.

Best,

Peg R.

I just want to thank your staff for a really positive experience

rehabbing my SLAP repair in my shoulder.  I just had my three month follow-up with Dr. Seth Miller, who did the surgery.  Dr. Miller was shocked at the progress, which I would describe as 99%.  With the exception of occasional slight morning stiffness, I feel no limitations and now have full clearance from the surgeon to do anything, even throw the baseball.

I was expecting a much longer recovery, and I think it is thanks to all of your staff's diligent work with me that I was able to rehab so quickly.  You run a great business with some great trainers.

I had the pleasure of working with several of your trainers, all of whom were terrific.  I have to mention, however, that Noah Citsay, who I worked with regularly during the last month of my rehab is the most knowledgeable, passionate therapist I've ever worked with.  I hope that Moore does everything to advance Noah's career and keep him, and I hope that you'll pass along my gratitude to him.

I hope I'm not back too soon, but in the inevitable event that I have another injury, I won't go anywhere else.

With sincere gratitude,

Mark W.

Moore is a place where I feel comfortable and well cared for.

After suffering with back pain for over a year and talking to many doctors, it’s nice to finally have a whole team of people who listen.

They work hard to ensure that each exercise plan is tailored to the individual, not just the injury. Each time I leave the facility I feel a sense of accomplishment and I look forward to a full recovery!

Danielle

Recently I underwent (partial) bi-lateral knee replacement surgery on both knees.

Following the surgery, I chose the Moore Rehabilitation Center in Darien, CT for my rehab. In a two month period (3 sessions a week), I reached maximum range of motion and was walking pain free. It was their professional expertise and efforts that helped me achieve this excellent result along with a more rapid recovery.

During my period of rehab, I observed and talked with many patients who also expressed the same views as I on how well the Moore staff was helping them achieve their goals.

Also, I feel it is important to point out that the friendliness of the entire staff greatly added to a positive environment which made my rehabilitation a lot easier.

I sincerely thank Bob Moore and his entire staff for their assistance.

Physical Therapy at the Wilton Moore Center was my introduction to the world of investing time and effort to enhance my well-being.

Though Moore came highly recommended, I was still surprised at the professional, caring, one-on-one treatment. Recuperating from hip replacement, (a 2007 Zimmer Model) the Moore Staff was constantly concerned about my improvement and would “stretch” the exercises to advance my progress.

When hip therapy was complete, I did not hesitate to sign-up for Personal Training to continue what was a great experience. Most of us are faced with daily stress and spend a lot of time, money and effort on everything but ourselves.  Treating my body to a routine of exercise, specifically designed for my abilities, has increased my body strength, overall feeling of wellness and I like the idea of investing in me.

There is no question that I share this experience with people who want to be here, both the trainers and consumers, where the commitment to mind, muscle and flexibility of movement is Moore’s number one priority.  Moore’s trainers, spacious bright facility, and variety of equipment make this a fun experience to look forward every session.

I had two total hip replacements in 2007. After each surgery, I came to Moore for rehabilitation.

I found the exercise program to be first-rate and the Moore staff to be friendly and always helpful.

My special appreciation to Lori, my physical therapist, who is just terrific. She is a real pro and constantly pushed me to progress in the rehabilitation program. As a result, I was able to dramatically improve my mobility in a very short period of time.

Many thanks, Bob, to you and your staff for a most pleasant and rewarding experience.

I am a long-time patient of Bob Moore and his Rehabilitation Therapy. I consider Bob and his staff to be among the most competent and effective and professional people I have ever met.

They start each patient with examination and analysis in depth of their physical problems in an extremely thorough manner. They are knowledgeable and insightful in recognizing the patient’s needs.

They then develop a therapy plan directed to the patient’s requirements. They have strong medical background which leads to clear discipline in preparing the right plan for each patient.

In execution, Bob and his staff give each patient personal attention. They are very caring but also firm in pushing patients to carry out the necessary therapy. They set goals carefully. Their patients appreciate their personal concern and involvement. And they achieve a very high success rate.

Jim B.

Dear Bob,  I just wanted to let you know how great it’s been to work with you and your staff.

I came to your center with pain in my shoulder and elbow, (no doubt caused by my obsession with golf) and after working with you and your physical trainers, I have regained motion and my pain has disappeared. Your staff has tailored the therapy to my particular tendonitis and has worked with me to make sure that I’m doing the exercises correctly. I really appreciate your individual attention and I credit your commitment and dedication with my speedy recovery.

I look forward to continuing my therapy in order to strengthen not just my shoulder, but my whole body as well.

Jim R.

The Moore Center was recommended to me by my physical therapist from the Connecticut Visiting Nurse Service and since my first day, when I registered for treatment, it has been an upbeat experience.

From the beginning I felt that everyone at the Moore Center was concerned about me – about my getting better – from the receptionists through the aides to the therapists.

When I started treatment and my level of pain and discomfort was a bit high, my therapists were undertaking and compassionate. As I improved, I feel they are as happy as I am.

Thank you all – I will recommend the Moore Center to anyone needing therapy.

Lise M.

I started at Moore after just one year of experiencing varied levels of knee pain after having surgery.

I had been to other physical therapy centers, but shortly after stopped going due to lack of interest and feeling I was making no progress. As a last resort, my doctor gave me three choices, do nothing and have daily pain, try physical therapy again or undergo additional surgery. I opted for trying physical therapy with the intention of trying it for one month as I was not confident given my experience the first time. One of the options provided was Moore. I thought it looked interesting and after looking at the many locations available, decided to call them.

I could tell they were different from the moment I walked in. The atmosphere felt different and the people seemed different. I confirmed what I thought after just one visit. They looked at the impact my knee had on my overall well being and explained why I was feeling so bad everywhere. For the first time I had an understanding of what attempting to walk incorrectly had done to me as a whole. They put together a program for me that would address all aspects of my body, not just focusing on my knee. I actually left that first visit feeling that there might actually be hope for me. After a few more visits, I started to feel good about what I was doing and decided to add to what they were teaching me. Since I was actually exercising, I went back on weight watchers to lose weight and started to feel like I could actually do this.

For anyone that knows me well, I am a workaholic that does not leave work for ANYTHING. I have now been coming to Moore for almost two months, three times a week and look forward to feeling stronger each time. I will be turning 50 this year and no longer feel like I am turning 80 instead. Although they do not know it, Greg and his team have made me believe I can actually turn 50 and feel better than I have in years. My ultimate goal is to be able to actually do some of the things I see the high school kids doing in their personal training classes (and I will get there!).

Thanks for giving me hope again!

Lynn H.

Rich, I just wanted to say that I deeply appreciate the time and effort you and your staff have extended to me, especially Jessica and Emily, when I wasn’t up to par with some of the exercises and they patiently worked with me…they’re angels with wings.

Paul
